Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

I retired in 2010. I didn’t know what to do. I went back to work.
I really retired in 2012. I joined groups. I met for lunch. I got a dog. I did yoga.
I started walking.
I had dinner with friends in 2014. They said, “In 2015, we’re going to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain.” I said, “I’m going with you.” I don’t know why I said that.
In 2015, I walked the Camino de Santiago (The Frances Route). I walked 600 miles in seven weeks.
In 2017, I walked the Camino de Santiago (The Portuguese Route). I walked 300 miles in four weeks.
In 2019, I will walk the Camino de Santiago (The North Route). I don’t know how long that will take.
When I’m not walking, I have another life.
This is the story of how I manage both.
